Physical globe as used on the "National Geographic Concise Atlas of the World" cover. The task was to show North and South America, Europe and Africa "floating" on a blue plastic sphere that was translucen enough to be effected by the deep darkness of space, and also allowed the far side continents such as Australia and Antarctica to be visible.
