After a most admirable long run National Geographic decided to replace the old acrylic paintings with new, digitally produced, Adobe Photoshop airbrush painted ocean floor maps based on the best available data.
At the scale of 1:25 million, and at 300 dpi resolution, the World Ocean original's dimensions are 65.6 x 45.3 inches, and - utilizing a southeast light source - it shows the ocean floor relief in a planimetrically correct, oblique fashion.
